2015 South American Championship (Nov 1-10)

2015 South American Championship – The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and the rules of the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association (STCR). The Organizing Authority is the CLUB NAUTICO SAN ISIDRO in conjunction with the International Star Class Yacht Racing Association (ISCYRA). The host fleets are Olivos and Buenos Aires.

Historical – American sailor Lowell North has won the most titles, with five titles between 1945 and 1973 and another seven podiums. The most crowned skipper-crew combinations are Italian duo Agostino Straulino and Nicolò Rode and Brazilian duo Robert Scheidt and Bruno Prada with three titles each. Also Bill Buchan, Jr. has three titles, but with different crew.

American sailors have won the most championships, 55 editions, followed by Italian sailors, six titles, and sailors of Germany and Brazil (5 each).

This years world championship is being held in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the hosting yacht club Club Nautico San Isidro. The event will take place Sun November 1st 2015 through Tue November 10th 2015

Registration – October 25th to November 2nd. Office hours: 10:00 – 17:00

Measurement – October 24th, 25th and 31st; and November 1st to 2nd

Schedule of Races:

November 3rd to 8th: one race per day.
November 9th and 10th: reserve days.
