Castine Classic Yacht Race ● Schooner Celebration

The Castine Yacht Club is sponsoring the sixteenth annual Castine Classic Yacht Race from Castine to Camden on Thursday, July 30. This 19.6nm race will be the first of three day races in conjunction with the Camden Classic Yacht Race to Brooklin and the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta. The race is open to all monohull Classic and Spirit of Tradition yachts at least 28’ LOA with a valid CRF rating certificate. Each yacht must tow a proper dinghy; no toys, please. Failure to do so will result in time penalty and disqualification from winning any prize. Each yacht must
have property and third party liability insurance of at least $300,000.

Schooner Celebration: The Castine Yacht Club, in cooperation with Mystic Seaport and American Schooner Association, is pleased to sponsor a celebration of significant schooner yachts, windjammers and training ships in Castine on Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Notable examples of these iconic schooners will be on exhibition at the Town Dock and in the harbor starting at noon. At 1600 hrs the schooner fleet will be honored at a symposium in Delano Auditorium at Maine Maritime Academy. Dana Hewson, Vice President for Watercraft Preservation and Programs at Mystic, will chair the discussion among a distinguished panel of skippers, builders and historians.
