Draken received a warm welcoming as she made landfall in Qaqortoq, Greenland. A welcomed greeting after encountering icebergs en-route from their trip from Iceland.
After 6 days of sailing, the ship sailed into the harbor of Qaqortoq, in the south east of Greenland, near the bay where Erik the Red lived. The Viking Erik the Red was the first settler of Greenland and father of Leif Eriksson, the first European we know who to set foot on North American land around the year 1000.
