A new inlet was carved along the Florida coast by Hurricane Matthew. Between St. Augustine and Palm Coast, a small new inlet was carved out by the powerful water pounding the coast.
The new inlet can be seen in this before-and-after image. A NOAA aircraft taking aerial photography after the storm this weekend illustrated what the National Weather Service confirmed in an official survey.
