John G. Alden WOLFHOUND – The Move

Wolfhound has left Graafship, Dordrecht and has arrived in Enkhuizen for the final phase of the build (the interior, the rig, and minor systems).

Enkhuizen is a sailors town and there is a whole fleet of classic Dutch sailing barges that adorns the harbor and the sea in front of Wolfhoind’s new facilities. Large gaff rigged classic schooners sail by when the doors to the new construction hall are open. What better inspiration for the final phase?

Wolfhound – The exclusive rights to build this design, which after 86 years in Alden archives, has finally taken shape as the schooner “Wolfhound” for it’s current owner.

Detailed construction drawings were never produced for this design. so some of the details in the implementation have to be inferred from other Alden designs from the same time period, such as the 1926 126’ 2-masted auxiliary schooner yacht “Starling”
