Translation is what it is, and note vessel is of Dutch origin and not schooner rigged, amongst other details (see comments under Nina in our Classic Yacht Register) but interesting nonetheless.
The following was provided by one of our consortium pooling resources, and left comment on our Classic Yacht Registry Starling Burgess Niña, and was recently posted on the Norwegian Coast Guard Facebook page.
“During patrol Protection Zone , southwest of Sørkapp on Spitsbergen , met KV Harstad on a Dutch sailing vessel which was en route to Longyearbyen.
It blew up against stormy in the area and was a wave height up to 8m .
The sailboat is 18m long and has seven people on board. They could opt for difficult conditions , but they were in good spirits .
They have writing about 160 nautical mil again to Longyearbyen.”
