Mystic Seaport – With Mystic Seaport now open throughout the winter months, it’s the perfect destination for a winter day. This winter, go behind the scenes and take an up-close look at the Museum’s vessels and Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard. Guided tours will showcase restoration work on the 1908 steamboat Sabino, Plimoth Plantation’s Mayflower II, and the schooner Amistad. Listen as our knowledgeable Interpretation staff share details about the vessels’ history and current restoration.

You will also be given a guided tour of the Museum’s flagship, the 1841 whaleship Charles W. Morgan. Climb aboard and explore the last wooden whaleship in the world and learn more about the vessel’s history.

Tours will go out rain or shine and begin and end at the Museum’s main entrance. The 90-minute tour begins at 1 p.m. and is offered Saturdays and Sundays, January 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, Jan. 30-31, and February 6-7. Tickets can be ordered in advance by purchasing online or calling 860.572.5331.

Reservations are encouraged, although walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis; there is a maximum of 20 people per tour. If you are planning to purchase tickets at the Museum’s entrance and would like to inquire about availability before you arrive, please call 860.572.0711.
