2023 Regatta Cancellation Notice

Martin Farrand Commodore Mahurangi Cruising Club – “Unfortunately due to the weather, the 2023 Mahurangi Regatta has been cancelled. The weather situation for Saturday from multiple sources is for winds 15-25kn gusting 30kn from the north-east with rain from Friday afternoon to Sunday. The races and events to Mahurangi run by CYA, DYC, SYC, CCYC and the shore activities and entertainment arranged by Mahurangi Action have all been cancelled.The Regatta Committee is disappointed to have to make this announcement and we wish you the best in enjoying alternative activities for the Anniversary Weekend.”
2022 Mahurangi Regatta
Roger Mills – The wind was a nice breeze from the North East giving the yachts some power soon after the start heading out round Saddle Island to port then on up to Moturekareka Island before returning downwind to the harbour. From the smiles on the crews faces, everyone enjoyed a great summers day sailing. No onshore festivities this year as covid rules limited numbers, however plenty of vessels rafted up for some great partying .
