Freedom Ship International Inc., a Sarasota, Florida based company, is trying to raise 11 billion to build a modern mobile city with an airport, hospitals, schools, banks, retail and wholesale shops, restaurants, hotels, entertainment facilities, casinos, offices, warehouses, and light manufacturing and assembly enterprises.
The ship, would continuously circle the globe, covering most of the world’s coastal regions. Its large fleet of commuter aircraft and hydrofoils would ferry residents and visitors to and from shore. The airport on the ship’s top deck would serve private and small commercial aircraft (up to about 40 passengers each).
If constructed Freedom Ship would be five times larger than the any other ship built, and a lot heavier. And for this reason Freedom Ship would have to be built at sea, there are no dry docks in the world that can accommodate a ship that weighs over 3 million tons.
