The 2013 PIC Insurance Brokers Coastal Classic starts at 10am on Friday 25 October.
The Coastal Classic is one of the world’s most famous yacht races, attracting up to 200 yachts for a mass start off Devonport Wharf in Auckland, crossing the line 119 nautical miles later at Russell in the Bay of Islands.
For the sailing world, it is the icebreaker that welcomes in the summer season, and for the land lubbing world, it is a fantastic morning on the water or next to it, watching elite and not so elite, line up for a brilliant day on the water.
One of the biggest yacht races in the world, the Coastal Classic is a spectacle worth climbing North Head for.
