Cyane was designed by Sparkman & Stephens, built by Jakobson Shipyard, Oyster Bay, N.Y., for Mr. Henry B. DuPont (Commodore of the Cruising Club of America. 1958 and 1959), former vice president of E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., Inc., and a great‐great‐grandson of the company’s founder, Eleu thère Irénée du Pont de Ne mours.
