The Irish government awarded the Chieftains the honorary title of ‘Ireland’s Musical Ambassadors’ in 1989 The Chieftains are a traditional Irish band formed in Dublin in November 1962, by Paddy Moloney, Sean Potts and Michael Tubridy.
